JULIO ARTUSI is a self-taught artist and began painting at age 54. He is an associate of the Ateneu Angrense de Letras e Artes (Angra Arts and Literature Association), a member of the Sociedade Brasileira de Belas Artes (Brazilian Society of Fine Arts), a honorary citizen of Lagoa da Prata in Minas Gerais, and was awarded a Medal of Merit by the government of t he former state of Guanabara.

Following a very successful career as an executive with multinational firms, as a painter he participated in 13 group exhibits and 24 salons, held 22 individual showings and received seven honorable mentions, five bronze medals, seven silver and four gold medals over a period of 11 years.
